The Marlothii Conservancy

The Marlothii Conservancy is registered with the Mpumalanga Parks Board as an Urban Conservancy and was the first in Mpumalanga to do so. It aims to generate interest and active participation by registered land owners, accredited residents and the business community in the conservation of indigenous and endemic fauna and flora and the protection of the environment in the area based on scientific principles of nature conservation and sustainable utilization of the area's natural resources. The Conservancy exists in partnership with the Marloth Park Honorary Rangers and the Marloth Park Property Owners Association. Rhino Poached 569

Rhino Poacher sentenced in Skukuza Circuit Court, + 3 arrests have been made. Thursday 24th July 2014 Poacher sentenced to 77 years for incident on 23rd April  2011 involving poaching and implicated in his accomplices death.

SANPARKS deny loosing battle against Rhino Poaching and contrary to rumours they are not transferring or selling Rhinos presently.

M.T.P.A. strong room heist – a 3rd suspect has been arrested

We were represented at the Winter Fair, renewed membership and email

addresses. Our new Banner had its first showing.

Thank you to the donors of goods towards our White Elephant Stall.

The insect course presented at Jabula Lodge there were 18 attendees thank you Keith Knorr and Di van Rensburg.

Gus and Margaret Mills will present their Illustrated Talk “Kalahari to Kruger and back - Reflections of a Carnivore Biologist” on Friday 8th August at 18h00 at Grand Kruger Lodge. Please come and give us your support.

Bird Ringing by James Rawdon was conducted on 5th& 6th July

Winter Bird walks not well supported during July but a private request by knowledgeable birders visiting was a great success, lasting most of the day.
